We got there just after it opened, about 10:15am, and I think that was the winning strategy for the success, as there were almost no other kids there yet.
I kind of failed in the whole 'let her go and explore everything she wants in the order she wants at the pace she wants' bit though, as I was eager for her to head up to the area that was made for kids her age, thinking it would be oh-so cool for her. Ended up that area kind of sucked big time, so after a very short while there, she headed out into the wild jungle of the place, literally (happened to be themed a jungle).
First up was a tunnel, which Judge went through first, and she followed after...backwards a lot of the way as that's how she gets down off furniture and how she goes down stairs:
Then it was carefully making her way out on a rope and walking across it - carrying two plastic balls she had picked up along the way:
Afterwhich it was time for the ball-pit. But rather than her eyes aglow when she saw the pit, she got all excited about all the balls that had gone astray, and got busy cleaning a large portion of them up. That's our Leona for you.
Once in, Judge dug himself down completely and swam around a bit, to pop up beside her, and she immediately signed 'glasses' - not what any of us had expected really. But then he touched his face, drop-jaw, "I wore my glasses right?". Now how lucky was he, because if it hadn't been for Leona's stellar observation skills I think we could have been looking for them a while later for a looooooooong time.
It was then time for the trampoline - and boy was that a winner!
She just jumped and jumped and ran and bumped. LOVED it.
And last but not least, the volcano. The big kids have to run up it a bit, then grab on to nobs and 'mountain climb' their way up to the top. Leona has a few years to go before she can do that, but running up and sliding down was totally in her realm (especially due to her moccasins that made it not too slippery):
Another awesome part of it was that we just had to pay for Leona (NOK 70), and the three of us adults (Judge, my mom and I) got to enter for free.
By around noon tons of kids started to show up though, with some birthday's being celebrated there and all, so though not as crowded as these kinds of places can get in bigger cities (not to mention Taiwan) it still was feeling way too hectic and chaotic for us, so we decided to head home. It was perfect timing though, really, as Leona was exhausted and it was about time for her nap :) So thus ended a not too shabby late-morning at Leo's Lekeland.
