my summer vacation

While Norwegians are basically forced to take five weeks off per year for vacation (there are other days earmarked for sick-leave etc), one does not get to partake in this wonderfulness until one has worked a full year.

Thus, alas, my summer break was all of 2.5 unpaid work-days long (plus the weekend). But boy did we take good advantage of those days!

We headed down to Trondheim to visit two of my cousins, one of my uncle-aunty, and my really good child-hood friend.

This was the first time Leona's really played with other kids (my one cousin has two girls around 2 and 4 years old, my other cousin has two boys each a few months younger than the girls), and boy did she find it interesting! And after meeting the two little girls, Judge realized that perhaps Leona isn't the bundle of energy he used to think she was ;)

So we had three-four days of good foods, good visits, and surprisingly good weather. What more could one ask for on a weekend trip?

[So many great new toys - and how cool are pianos
(she discovered she could make sounds emerge from it :P)]

[My cousin on the far-left lives in the awesomest area e.v.e.r. When we arrived and looked around a bit Judge proclaimed we are going to buy a house there ... and that if his sister came to visit he was 100% certain she would immigrate to Norway and buy a place there too :P]

Plus, we successfully got drop-jaw from all when they heard that Leona wakes up at around 10am every morning (going to sleep around 7-8pm). They are all in total awe of the magic Judge wields :P

  1. Speaking of awesomeness and vacations:
Have you been to Sommarøy? If not, give me a call some sunny day for some time on the beach.

  2. Ooo, we have been there once - 5.5 years ago, meaning in February, so not exactly summery niceness :P.

We will take you up on it, thanks!
